The current set of choices for the next IFOCE top 25 poll follows after the jump. The list consists of people with two or more IFOCE results in the database from the past 12 months combined with people who have won money in a non-amateur IFOCE contest in the past 12 months. Other choices can be added or removed if requested.

Don Sturdy has a new podcast containing an interview with Naader Reda and a discussion of their Power Rankings.
DonSturdy.com has started a power ranking system for competitive eaters. The top 5 are 1) Pat Bertoletti 2) Joey Chestnut 3) Bob Shoudt 4) Sonya Thomas and 5) Eric "Badlands" Booker. Takeru Kobayashi is #29.
Stephanie Torres removed from IFOCE rankings, Andrew Kogutkiewicz enters
A commenter noted that Stephanie Torres has been removed from the #21 spot in the IFOCE top 50, apparently for competing in the non-IFOCE burger eating contests held at the Lone Butte Casino last month. Andrew Kogutkiewicz enters the rankings at #45. His latest competition was a victory at the non-IFOCE Sheboygan Brat Days contest where he won $500.
Brad Sciullo competed as Eric “The Herald” Durst in the non-IFOCE Bartolini’s meatball eating contest in 2008 and was allowed to remain in the organization and win the San Gennaro cannoli eating contest. (He was later ejected for completing Denny’s Beer Barrel Belly Buster challenge burger. )
The new poll asks who you think is the top non-IFOCE competitive eater after Takeru Kobayashi. Yesterday's West Coast Hot Dog Eating Contest was the third event in a row where Tom Gilbert finished ahead of "Furious" Pete Czerwinski.
The new poll asks who do you think will be the second highest ranked woman in the IFOCE top 50 at the end of 2011.

Stephanie Torres & “Cardboard Shell” added to IFOCE top 50
Commenters noticed that the IFOCE top 50 was changed yesterday. The top 20 appears unchanged. Stephanie Torres (#21) and Michelle “Cardboard Shell” Lesco (#26) are the new entrants. Kevin Ross (formerly #26) and Shawn Kirby (formerly #50) were dropped. Damon Wells jumped from #28 to #22. Five women in the top 50 sets a new record for female representation.
The NCCEA rankings of top collegiate competitive eaters have been updated and Jay Gorman is the new #1, moving ahead of Eric Dahl.
Eatfeats 2011 post-Nathan’s IFOCE poll choices
I will start an IFOCE poll sometime next week. A list of the current choices for the poll follows. People need to have at least one IFOCE contest in 2011 to be listed. Please let me know if you think someone should be added to the list.
The National Collegiate Competitive Eating Association has posted its first rankings listing Eric "Silo" Dahl as the top competitive eater in college. (People had to submit a "resume" to be considered for the rankings.)
The new poll asks what you think is the most notable no-show in competitive eating history. Thank you for your suggestions.

Next poll: most notable no-show in competitive eating history
The next poll will ask what you think is the most significant instance of a competitor missing a contest after announcing he or she would compete. Here are the current choices. Please add others you think should be added in the comments. (I am not considering an absence a no-show if it was announced before the contest or due to medical reasons.)
- Ian Hickman, does not compete in 2011 Madison Food Court contest after recording four commericials to promote contest.
- Grace Lee, misses the 2011 Newnan, GA Nathan’s qualifier after doing a radio appearance about competing the week before. (There is still no mention of the absence on her facebook. )
- Brad Sciullo, skips the 2011 Wing Bowl after qualifying for it.
- Brad Sciullo, does not appear at the 2010 Pizza Slaughter Fest after doing a news video about the contest.

The MLE facebook announces that new rankings will be released before Memorial Day. Matt Stonie and Stephanie Torres will almost certainly be the highest ranked new male and female in the new top 50. The new polls ask where you think they should be ranked.

The ballot for the unified poll has been set up and voting will start tomorrow (Sunday). (Last minute additions can be made to the list of choices if requested). Rules will be different than in previous ranking polls:
- Only registered & logged in users can vote.
- All ballots will be public and posted when voting closes on Wednesday.
- No results will be listed until voting closes.
- The poll will be run with the previous rules (registration & public ballots not required) after the results are posted.
update Feb 13 The poll opening has been pushed back to Monday to make sure that everyone has a chance to submit suggestions. All of the current IFOCE top 50 has been added to the list of choices.
