The Nathan's qualifiers sites for the top 4 ranked IFOCE members who need to qualify appear online. "Notorious" Bob Shoudt's upcoming contest list says will be competing in the Nathan's qualifier in Atlantic City on May 29 and Pat Bertoletti says he will attempt to qualify in a facebook comment in Tempe, Arizona on June 5. Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek will do a jalapeno eating contest on First Take on ESPN2 Friday. He is holding a contest on his facebook that will award an autograph to the fan who submits a video eating the most jalapenos in a minute.
update May 13 Celek’s competition will be Pat Bertoletti and four other ESPN employees. The MLE facebook says that the contest should start around 11:45 eastern.
Wide receiver D Yergey of the Philadelphia Liberty Belles says she can outeat any of the linewomen on her team in an eating contest.

IFOCE.com reports that MLE will sanction a 7-11 Slurpee contest in Australia. Pat Bertoletti and Hall Hunt will make appearances Down Under to promote the contest. (Bertoletti & Hunt also competed in a contest in the Czech Republic in 2008) via Darren Rovell twitter

A podcast of Pat Bertoletti’s appearance on the Steve Dahl show Friday is available (minutes 37-44) Pat Bertoletti says that a part of his body hurt after the jalapeno eating contest that had never previously experiences post-competition discomfort. Steve Dahl says that dunking in Nathan’s repulses him and proposes an “old school” competitive eating organization that would ban dunking.
