He is not the first American to attempt the challenge, Joey Chestnut was the first person to complete the challenge last month, winning the jackpot of 785 euros ($1080) (he donated 350 euros ($480) to charity). Two previously undefeated challenges in the UK were recently beaten for the first time: the Gigantwich burger at Mangetout in Southend-on-Sea by James Brettell and the 34 piece Goliath XXL breakfast at the Newton Cafe Brunch Bar in Belfast by Martin Cooper.
