The Scottish Sun has an article about a 6 pound steak challenge available at The Grill Room in Glasgow which costs £360 ($565). If the steak is finished in under an hour, it is free along with a membership to club 29.

The AP has a story about a caviar eating contest held in Moscow. The winner ate 500g of caviar (estimated value $5000) in about 90 seconds and won a prize of 10000 rubles (approximately $340).

(semi off-topic) A giant Pac-Man mosaic was created by AC Milan fans holding up colored cards in yesterday's Champions League match versus Barcelona. The mosaic was captioned "Mangiamoli!" ("Let's eat them!") and the ghost Pac-Man was chasing had Barcelona colors.

Cattlemens in Harrogate, England announces that Tracy Dalkin finished its 72 ounce steak challenge in 21:47, the second fastest time in the history of the restaurant. This might be the best time for a woman to complete a 72 ounce steak challenge meal. The fastest for a female to complete a 72 ounce steak I was previously aware of was Meredith Boxberger's recent mark of 29 minutes.

The BBC reports The Robert Pinto was the first person to finish the Kidz Breakfast at Jesters Diner in Great Yarmouth, England. He finished the 9 pound meal which includes 12 rashers of bacon, 12 sausages and six eggs in 26 minutes. In the article, Mike Antolini of MLE discusses the possibility of a future British Nathan's qualifier (the last was held in 2005). Flashback 2005 BBC article about a steak eating contest in England won by Sara Manifold with a total of 100 ounces.

Mirror.co.uk reports that Freddie Starr was hospitalized for food poisoning after eating a fermented egg in a gross food eating contest on the British version of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. In addition to the egg, the 68 year old comic also consumed a pig’s anus, cockroach milkshake, camel toe, turkey testicle and mice tails to win the contest.
