Todd's New York BBQ & Roadhouse in Bayside, NY has a 24 inch cheese steak challenge weighing about 5 pounds that is free if it is eaten in less than 30 minutes.
The Miami Herald has an article about Sef "The Burger Beast'' Gonzalez of the BurgerBeast.com blog, who will attempt a four pound burger challenge later this month.
"Furious" Pete Czerwinski has uploaded a video of his completion of the three pound burger at Big Ed's in 2:26. The previous record was 11:56.

Foxabulous and alliedbillyz have videos from the Tony Luke's cheesesteak eating contest in Philadelphia yesterday where the competitors were required to wear boxing gloves.

Roast Grill record reclamation attempt

NewsObserver.com has an article about Gabe Gigliotti’s attempt to reclaim the record at The Roast Grill in Raleigh, NC by eating 24 chili dogs in under an hour. Gigliotti previously held records of 16 and 18 hot dogs. Adam Richman held the record between those marks when he ate 17 hot dogs on a March episode of Man vs. Food.

(via A-Bomb email) The twitter for LBS Burger Joint in Las Vegas reports that Ron Koch renamed the Extreme Burger the "Undertaker Burger" after becoming the first diner to complete the challenge.

(via tradocaj) UWishUNu reports that a Tony Luke's cheesesteak sandwich eating contest requiring competitors to wear boxing gloves will be held in Philadelphia on Sunday as part of the "Parade of 1,000 Rockys".
The Milford Daily reports that Gretchen Vogel won a hot wing eating contest at Jake's Dixie Roadhouse in Waltham, Massachusetts which culminated with a 750,000 scoville unit sauce.

The Emory Wheel has an interview with the manager of Big Pie in the Sky Pizza about its Carnivore Challege who says that the most recent pair to complete the challenge (who are not yet listed on the online wall of fame) included a female who wants to start a "Woman vs. Food" show.
The Concord Monitor has an article about the construction of a 222.5 pound meatball by Nonni's Italian Eatery in Concord, New Hampshire which broke a record previously set on a September episode of the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Atlanta eating challenge website

Juliet and Floria and not the only big-eating Lees on the east coast. Grace Lee has an Atlanta restaurant website at AtlantaGSpots.com containing an eating challenge page with the following description:

Stay tuned as Grace and her unbelievable appetite take on new challenges every month. She’s challenging Atlanta to out-eat her and, at 5’2″ and 110lbs, she’s setting records, beating men twice her size, and tearing up the city!

There are videos of two eating challenges: setting the record at Varasano’s Pizzeria by eating 30 slices and a wing challenge where Grace ate 60 wings.

Big Berlin burger banished

The website for The Bird in Berlin, Germany announces the termination of its Big Bird burger challenge:

You see the Big Bird could no longer live in a society with people disgusting enough to order it. We tried everything. We threatened to raise the price again to discourage its consumption. But it argued that there would still be people gluttonous enough to make asses of themselves no matter what the price.

Calling your customers “disgusting” and “asses” is probably not the optimal way to obtain repeat business.
