The MLE facebook reports that Tim “Gravy” Brown edged Joe LaRue by one hot dog in the Atlanta area qualifier, 28 HDB to 27.
The eating contest twitpics have a photo of Gravy Brown with the trophy, who ate 28 hot dogs.
The qualifier in Newnan Georgia should start at 1pm. The eatingcontest twitpic has started posting pictures.

In today’s edition of the Chicago Tribune, Tim “Gravy” Brown offers some hot dog eating contest tips
Brain training. Competitive eaters override brain signals that tell them they’re full, and if you want to eat faster, you need to do the same before you slow down. “You have to trick yourself,” says Brown, who also packs an iPod with books on tape or punk rock to distract himself. “You just want to concentrate.” His brain and gut rewired, Brown finds, “I never get full. I don’t get hungry. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love to eat.”

Beautiful Brian has uploaded a holiday message video to youtube in which he announces and plays samples from Tim “Gravy” Brown’s new CD titled Santa’s Slay Beautiful Brian compares Tim “Gravy” Brown to Elvis Costello. Songs include “Go Tell it on the Mountain”, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christman”, “Deck the Halls”, “O Little Town of Bethlehem”, “Take My Breath Away” and “My Heart Will Go On”.

CompetitiveEatingNews reports that Tim Brown will receive a slot in the Nathan’s finals:
Gravy Brown, the most promising eater Chicago’s produced since the great Bertoletti, will also compete.
Much buzz has surrounded the Wild Card win of Shredder since he would have won the Civil Service qualifier outright had Rios Grande not competed. Investigative reports have suggested that Rios is not a civil servant and neither is Goldstein.
