“No One Died: The Wing Bowl Story” documentary

The Philadelphia Inquirer and NBC Philadelphia have articles about an upcoming documentary about the Wing Bowl titled “No One Died: The Wing Bowl Story”. The assertion “No One Died” may not be 100% accurate. Fino “Chili Dawg” Cachola passed away soon after qualifying for the Wing Bowl in December 2004. An excerpt from “Horsemen of the Esophagus” by Jason Fagone chronicles the final weeks of Cachola’s life. A previous Wing Bowl documentary that followed six competitors in the 2005 Wing Bowl, “Swallow Your Pride”, has disappeared from the internet after being available on youtube. A few clips can be viewed on the film’s channel.

SpringfieldNewsSun reports that Joey Chestnut will appear at a hot dog eating contest at MustartFEST in Springfield, Ohio on September 21. He will do a hot dog eating exhibition and present awards to winners of an amateur hot dog eating contest that are topped with spicy condiments from Woeber's. Joey Chestnut's appearance was announced on August 25, before Springfield, Ohio received national publicity for alleged violations of pets and wildlife by Haitian immigrants. update Sept 20 The Springfield News Sun has an interview with Joey Chestnut about his appearance in Springfield, OH tomorrow.

Joey Chestnut has defeated Kobayashi 83 hot dogs to 67 to set a world record for a 10 minute hot dog contest.

In the first undercard, Matt Stonie defeated three aquatic Olympians (Ryan Lochte, Ryan Murphy and Max Irving) in a 3 minute wing eating contest, 53 wings to 36.

Netflix has an instagram post about the Chestnut / Kobayashi rivalry with two major errors: Kobayashi did not reverse in the 2007 Krystal Square Off, he missed it due to “jawthritis” and Kobayashi did not compete in the 2010 Nathan’s finals, he attended as a spectator and was arrested afterwards.
