7:37 Brian Dudzkinski says he ate 2.6 pounds and that an amateur received 3rd place with 4.1 pounds. “Dud Light” is not happy with the judging.

6:21 Joey Chestnut ate 4.5 lb. (The MLE twitter has yet to announce results (or the Canadian winners in Calgary))

5:56 The Lunch Belle announces that Joey Chestnut won the contest.

update June 3 Brian Seiken has a video and Bob Shoudt has a video of himself throwing the first pitch at yesterday’s Mets game.

update Winners have been announced: Bob Shoudt won the men’s division with 40 and Maria “Edible” won the women’s with 20.
Badlands Booker takes the men’s wild card lead with 37.

Robert Firlotte reports that Aaron Osthoff won the men’s division of today’s Nathan’s qualifier in Calgary with 33 hot dogs. Aaron’s wife Heather appears to have won the women’s division according to this picture. update Heather ate 12 hot dogs as did the Canadian female champion Nicole. The male Canadian champion was Gino with 16 hot dogs.

update Dax “The Ginger” Swanson says he had a 43 wing deduction due to insufficient cleaning. This is strange for two reasons: 1) A contest judged by weight should not penalize by wing count 2) There should be no penalty for insufficient cleaning in a weight based contest; wings not fully cleaned should simply result in a lower total weight

Tim Brown wins St. Louis Hooters qualifier

update May 28 Aaron Osthoff says his total weight was reported as 4.82 pounds and Tim Brown’s weight was 4.93. This is more than 4 times the amount they were reportedly credited with in the Indianapolis qualifier.
