The Republican Herald has an article about the “A Taste of Hamburg-er†festival planned for Labor Day weekend in Hamburg, PA:
There’s also several contests planned for the festival, including a burger-eating contest, with the contestant that devours the most hamburgers in the designated time crowned the winner. There’s a $5 entry fee, and registration will begin the day of the festival.

AICE news reports that a multiple round, tag team eating contest between two person mixed gender teams from the United States and Japan will take place at Ron Wallace’s pumpkin farm in Greene, Rhode Island on August 21. The Herald Mail of Hagerstown, MD has a preview of Saturday’s Three Brothers Pizza contest containing several quotes from Pat Bertoletti in an article about a local ice cream eating contest. After graduating, Bertolletti has found employment at a fish store and gourmet shop and is also cooking for a catering company.

A 24 hour eating contest between teams of different sizes was recently held on a Japanese television program called “Food Camp”. The teams consisted of Nobuyuki “The Giant” Shirota as a single-person team, a two-woman team of Tomoko Miyake and her friend Kana, three wrestlers and six comedians. The comedians won by eating, 22.21 kg in total, but that was only .3 kg more than Shirota ate. Tomoko Miyake’s team was hurt by the medical disqualification of Kana.
