Kevin "LA Beast" Strahle bypassed the New Jersey curfew to visit filming sites for "Dirty Dancing". Despite the movie's Catskills setting, it was actually produced in Virginia and North Carolina. update The trip was started before the curfew was implemented.
ESPN2 announced it will rerun the 2006 Krystal Square Off finals at noon Eastern Sunday followed at 1pm by the 2006 Johnsonville Brat Eating World Championship held at Sheboygan, WI's Brat Days festival. The programs are part of ESPN8: The Ocho, an entire day devoted to non-traditional fields of competition.

Miki Sudo appears as a character in Bite the Bullet, a new game for the Steam platform by Mega Cat Studios. I think she is the first competitive eater to appear in a video game since the official MLE game was ported to iPhone in 2012.

Hint Water has sponsored an ad to be broadcast during today's Super Bowl set in the aftermath of a pie eating contest. update The commercial had the highest percent of negative emotion expressed by viewers of the broadcast (18.1% negative) according to a study done by RealEyes, beating out ads by Amazon Prime and Donald Trump
Monsters and Critics has a post about the steak eating challenge incident in last night's episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star. A woman drank so much water trying to finish a 96 ounce steak she suffered water intoxication and needed emergency assistance. (video)
The January 27 episode of 9-1-1: Lone Star will have an emergency at a steak eating contest. The original 9-1-1 set in Los Angeles had a crisis at an insect eating contest on its October 22, 2018 show. This is not the first steak eating contest incident on a Fox program. The March 28, 1999 episode of the Simpsons (Maximum Homerdrive) had a fatality after a steak challenge went wrong.

(I will not post any spoilers until later today). Update Results of the final round are in the comments. Takeru Kobayashi and Nobuyuki Shirota appear as commentators, but do not compete.
