EatingContest.in has been started to promote collegiate eating contests in India. The goal of the organization is to: "offer eating competitions to college students at their campuses as a form of entertainment during college events, and fests". There is one event listed for February 10, which is billed as the first ever eating contest in India.
The Telegraph of India reports that Ajay Kumar, head of the math department at Sri Arvind Mahila College in Patna, India won a curd eating contest by eating 2.5kg (5.5 pounds) of curd in 15 minutes.

A sushi eating contest in Jakarta, Indonesia with 692 competitors (320 male, 372 female) was recognized by the Indonesian Museum of Records for the most participants in an eating contest.

Johnny Wu, who has previously competed against Takeru Kobayashi and Sonya Thomas, led the first round of the CP Biggest Eater Hong Kong qualifier with 98 wontons. 54 year old Wang Wenyu led the women with 72 wontons in her first eating competition. Joey Chestnut, Erik Denmark and Juliet Lee will compete in an exhibition held during the second round of the qualifier on November 27.

Ng Chin Sheng was the top local male with 140 wontons at the Singapore qualifier of CP Brand’s Biggest Eater contest. Helen Tan ate 109 wontons to lead the Singaporean women. Results from the IFOCE eaters have yet to be posted, but Matt Stonie was leading Sonya Thomas during the contest. Matt Stonie has a gallery of his trip to Singapore.

CP Biggest Eater 2011-2012

CPBiggestEater.com has been updated with information about the 2011-12 contest. The first qualifier will take place in Singapore in October and other qualifiers will be held in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Melbourne, Australia. The finals will take place in Bangkok on February 11, 2012 and award a purse of approximately $30,000 US. Registration is now open for the four qualifiers.

15 international professional eaters are expected to compete including defending men’s & women’s champions Joey Chestnut and Juliet Lee along with Sonya Thomas, Pat Bertoletti, Tim Janus & Erik Denmark and Crazy Legs Conti.
