A podcast of the March 12 Andy Troy Show is available. The guests were Eric "Badlands" Booker, Crazy Legs Conti, Tim Janus and Yasir Salem (picture) . Probably the most interesting new information is Conti's claim that Pepto-Bismol's sponsorship has not been secured for the 2012 Nathan's circuit (minute 41). Crazy Legs also announces he will produce two new videos for Badlands Booker. When the topic of "Furious" Pete was brought up (minute 48), he was dismissed as a "minor leaguer".
A podcast of Joey Chestnut's interview on WRMF this morning is available. update WPTV.com has an article about Joey Chestnut. He says that he will graduate from San Diego State in May and might retire in 2013 if he wins seven Nathan's hot dog contests in a row.

The Gringo Bandito Taco Challenge will be the first United States contest against other competitive eaters for Takeru Kobayashi since the Krystal Square Off 6 finals in September 2009. The contest is expected to start at 1 pm Pacific, 4 pm eastern and can be viewed online at http://www.livestream.com/gringobandito.

Pat Bertoletti appears on the Sklar brothers (hosts of ESPN Classic's Cheap Seats) recent podcast (Pat's appearance starts around the 5 minute mark) to talk about his runner-up finish in the men's Nathan's finals. (Pat's "Henderson" headband was a tribute to the Sklars.) Pat announces that he and Tim Brown have purchased a food truck and calls Joey Chestnut "washed up" and "burned out" despite losing to Chestnut 9 of the last 11 times he has faced him (see comments).
The Bert Show has podcasts (the bottom two audio clips) of Grace Lee's appearance this morning where she talked about her experience at the Nathan's finals. Grace says she was not aware she received a 20 hot dog deduction until July 5. In the second clip, Larell Marie Mele's comment about Grace is mentioned (without providing the source) and the show tries to call Shea Communications about the decision but cannot reach George or Richard. (The person answering the phone said someone from the IFOCE would call back later.) update Grace has posted a video from New York and The New York Daily News has a short article in which George Shea stands behind the deduction, but says that Grace is welcome in future IFOCE contests. update July 12 Gothamist has a blog entry about the deduction.

The MLE twitter has a list of entrants in tomorrow's Nathan's qualifier at Concord Mills omitting Hall Hunt: "Wing Kong, Crazy Legs, Subich, Boykin, Grace Lee". (Brian Subich announced he would not compete yesterday.) The high tomorrow is expected to be 95, hopefully the contest will be held inside. update Grace Lee's podcast about the contest is available (via eatingcontest) update #2 WCNC also lists Brian Szontagh, Travis Wheeler, Vanessa Lugo and Katie Fisher as expected entrants and Micah "Wing Kong" Collins announces that he is currently lacking transportation south.
