LA Weekly lists Matt Stonie, Damon Wells and Kevin Ross as expected entrants in Sunday's Nathan's qualifier in Hawthorne, CA. Christine Kitchenmaster is the only woman listed.
Sportsbook has Joey Chestnut as the -275 favorite to win Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest next month. The rest of the field combined is a underdog at +185.
The Phoenix New Times has an interview with Erik "The Red" Denmark about Saturday's Nathan's qualifier at Arizona Mills in Tempe. Denmark says he is considering writing a book about his competitive eating experiences.

Yesterday Ken Ben Do commented that the Nathan's qualifier in Calgary scheduled for June 18 has been canceled. Ken Wong emailed his cancellation notice to confirm that the contest will not take place.
Beijinger has a blog entry about the June 18 Nathan's qualifier in Beijing which says that the top three eaters in that contest will compete in the Nathan's finals and that entrants must be Chinese nationals with a passport who have previously traveled abroad.

Scott Bickel appeared on Fox 8 News this morning to promote tomorrow’s Nathan’s qualifier in Cleveland. (A video of his appearance does not seem to be available.)

2:00 Todd J Thomas reports that Pete Davekos ate 25 hot dogs, which should suffice for qualification with Badlands Booker’s absence. The woman standing next to Davekos appears happy with her performance. We will see if she broke 10 HDB.
