The other finalists are Kyle Hook from Tucson, Lauren Takao from Hawaii, John Lomascolo from Albany and Dan Baker from Philadelphia. Darren Rovell reports that the 2011 Nathan's hot dog eating contest on ESPN received a 1.1 overnight rating, less than 2010 but more than the 2008 & 09 ratings. update Rovell says that the 2011 contest had the most viewers (1.94 million) since ESPN began televising it in 2004.

Wikipedia fabrication in 2010 ESPN Nathan’s graphic

A graph in last year’s broadcast of the Nathan’s finals listed Llamas as the top Nathan’s performer in the 1980’s with a total near 20 hot dogs. This is based on a Wikipedia fabrication claiming that Luis Llamas from Mexico won the 1983 contest with a total of 19.5 hot dogs.

According to an Associated Press article, the winner in 1983 was Emil Gomez with a total of 10.5 hot dogs.

Nathan's finalist Stephanie Torres was the first person to complete the challenge earlier this year, earning her a prize of $1,000.

The women's contest at the Nathan's finals may not appear on ESPN. IFOCE.com lists the start time of the female division at 11:30 am eastern and the ESPN broadcast will start at 12 noon eastern. (Grace Lee has planned a watch party, hopefully the women's contest will appear on some channel)
The 2011 Nathan's finals will be televised live in the United Kingdom on ESPN America and Paul Page will return as announcer despite calling the defending champion "Joey Chitwood" on last year's broadcast.
