A press release announces that Miki Sudo will attempt to become the first person to finish Randy's Pizza 30 inch pizza challenge in under 30 minutes without assistance today at 1:30 pm central in Oakdale, MN. The challenge will be livestreamed on www.premierpizza.com. update 1:33 central livestreaming has started update Dec 22 Miki ate about 80% - 90% of the pizza (picture).

In "Furious" Pete Czerwinski's most recent video he has an eating contest with IFBB fitness pro Jody Boam at the Mongolian Grill after they had an upper body training session. (In other Canadian female bodybuilder news, Amanda Lau completed the "Doris" burger challenge at Soda Jerks in Edmonton in July.)

The Henderson Press has a report on the pizza and wing eating contest held December 1 at Hammer's Bar and Grill in Henderson, NV. Miki Sudo ate two large pizzas and 24 wings to win the contest and "El Toro" Jimenez was the runner-up.

Takeru Kobayashi has been announced as a participant in the Weinerfest fundraiser to be held by Art F** City in New York City on December 16. Details about Kobayashi's appearance have not been released, but it might be intended for an 18+ audience based on the event's web page (not safe for work). Hofmann Sausage Company will supply hot dogs. update Dec 16 Kobayashi reportedly ate 12 hot dogs in a minute at the fundraiser. update Dec 20 Animal New York has a slow motion video of the appearance.

Kevin Youkilis, formerly of the Red Sox and White Sox, signed a one year contract with the New York Yankees after he appeared in a 2009 episode (starts at 6:17 mark) of Man v. Food recorded at Eagle's Deli in Brighton, MA where Adam Richman was taunted with the chant "Yankees Suck". Youkilis responded to the heckling by saying "Now he knows how I feel when I go to New York City." (via NESN)

The Guardian has a preview of tomorrow's pie eating contest at Harry's Bar in Wigan, England, which has adopted a six-ringed logo and renamed itself the "Pielympics" in honor of the London summer games. update Dec 12 Martin Clare won the contest with a time of 23.5 seconds to eat one pie.
