Bodybuilder Isabelle Turell reports in a forum thread that she has sent an application to the IFOCE, which has not yet responded. She also announces her intention to attempt the Pointersaurus Pizza challenge with her fiance, who says that Isabelle once ordered five multiple-patty burgers from McDonald’s
IFBB North American Lightweight Champ Lori Steele claims in the thread that she is the niece of Rich LeFevfre
Isabelle Turell’s myspace page lists her ethnicity as Hispanic. Orange County taco champion Karina Muniz and “Nurse” Caterina of the Heart Attack Grill would be Isabelle’s only rivals for the title of top Latina competitive eater that I am aware of.

R Suzuki has blog entries about the Gluttonous King contest that was televised today on TV Tokyo. Results from the final round:
1. “Doctor” Nishikawa, 33 bowls of noodles in an hour
2. Takuya Yamamoto, 32 bowls
3. Hatsuyo “the Witch” Sugawara, 27 bowls
Nishikawa’s mark breaks the previous record held by the now retired Nobuyuki “the Giant” Shirota.
(I think Nishikawa is an actual medical doctor like Juris Shibayama but am not 100% sure.)
The Gluttonous King home page has pictures of all the finalists which included Mio “Sakura” Takahashi (5th place) and “Essen” (9th place). Natsuko “Gal” Sone and Tomoko Miyake apparently did not compete.

(From Crawfish comment) The Glutton Bowl will be rerun on the Fox Reality Channel tonight at 10pm and 1am eastern. The show duration is two hours. Five hours of competitive eating programming on various channels is probably a record for one 24 hour period.

AICE News reports that Elliot “The Bone Collector” Rader has been temporarily suspended from the World Wakefield Chicken Salad Sandwich Eating Championship for falsely claiming on his website that he won the Ben Pao 2008 Egg Roll Eating contest.
The bonecollector.info has been updated with the correct name of the egg roll contest winner, Steve “Doc” Dohko, but it still claims that Rader won the 2007 Chicago Wingfest contest. A video of Pat Bruss being announced as the winner of that contest can be viewed on video.google.com

Erik Denmark has a blog entry about the Memphis Krystal qualifier which concludes with his top 10 benefits of missing the Krystal Square Off finals. His final 3 items in the list:
3 - Not having to convince my friends and family to get in their car and drive 60 miles to the nearest bar that carries FSN South to watch me for a split second while the camera pans to the middle of the table
2 - Avoid the depressing realization that I won’t get the final burger count because I have to sprint off the stage and straight to the airport to catch the last flight back to Seattle because it is Sunday and I have to work tomorrow
1 - I still have a chance to win a contest and a title in Lewisville on Saturday!
