The Chicago Tribune reports that Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist completed the one pound King Burger at the Oaken Bucket in South Bend, Indiana and was disappointed in the lack of an award for finishing the challenge. Crist also ate a gallon of ice cream in 30 minutes.

Matt Stonie sets Manimal record

The facebook for Tradewinds Cafe in Arundel, Maine reports that Matt Stone set the record for the “Manimal” challenge. After completing the challenge consisting of 2 loaded kraut or slaw dogs, an “ocho” eight patty cheeseburger, a small order of fries, a can Moxie and a one pound milkshake in 5 minutes, less than a third of the previous record, Matt ate another kraut dog, a quarter pound burger, 3 chicken taquitos and 3 chicken quesadillas before the 20 minute time limit expired.

The facebook for the Cheesesteak Shop in Sacramento announces that Stephanie W. set the overall record (25 minutes) for the King / Queen of Sacramento cheesesteak challenge. The record was previously held by JigsawMofo's friend Ryan, who retains the overall record (12:48) at for the 24 inch sandwich at the Steak Escape over Stephanie's women's record (13:07) by less than 20 seconds. The AZ Daily Star has a report on the Snowbowl Hill Climb in Flagstaff, Arizona. The seven mile race had a 2,200 foot climb and awarded $100 to the first male and female who finished the race after eating a double cheeseburger from Mama Burger at the 6 mile mark.

CityPaper.net reports that Dave Goldstein was the first to finish the Philly Challenge at Dave's Sandwich Board in under 45 minutes. OMG Burger challenge (Anaheim) possibly finished

Hollywood Undead has a picture of a big challenge burger that was reportedly finished in 50 minutes. The burger is probably the Double OMG burger at The Catch in Anaheim, which awards $500 to a customer that finishes it in under an hour.

update Stephen Obar appears in the picture and he says he finished 95% of the burger in 50 minutes.

In a bodybuilding.com forum thread, PhillipH states he was a member of the first four person team to complete the 42 inch pizza at Big Lou's in San Antonio. Phillip ate 6 of the 16 slices of the 30 pound pizza, making his total amount eaten more than 11 pounds.

Furious Pete on “Winner’s Bracket”

A clip of “Furious” Pete Czerwinski on yesterday’s Winner’ s Bracket on ABC has been uploaded. In this segment, Pete’s 72 ounce steak video faced off against a NBA summer league dunk in the semifinals of a 16 item tournament.

In the first two rounds, the clip defeated a catch by a ballboy and outfielder Jason Bay running into a wall.

Michelle Beadle posted the following comment about the clip to twitter: “@marcelluswiley and I were pulling for u! I’m going to tackle ice cream now”

The OMG challenge was officially started at The Catch in Anaheim yesterday. $500 will be awarded to a diner that can finish an eight pound burger in under an hour without assistance.
LBs Burgers in Las Vegas has created a poster for its "Undertaker" burger, which consists of 11 patties topped with bhut jolokia sauce. The burger received its name when Ron "The Undertaker" Koch was the first person to finish it last year .
MLive reports that the Rockford Corner Bar's "Not Dog" vegetarian hot dog challenge has received the first Animal-Friendly Eating Competition Award from PETA. A facebook group has also been started to encourage Man vs. Food to record at the restaurant.
The Wall Street Journal's Metropolis has an entry about Brick Lane Curry, which has experienced a big increase in the number of orders for its "Phaal Challenge" after it was featured on an episode of Man vs. Food.
Patch.com reports that King Abdullah II of Jordan went to the San Francisco Creamery in Walnut Creek and ordered the giant "Kitchen Sink" sundae as seen on the San Francisco episode of Man vs. Food. The street the restaurant is located on was blocked off while the visiting monarch dined.

The Dallas Observer reports that Russo's NY Coal-Fired Pizzeria in Richardson, TX will have a 28 inch pizza eating contest on July 29 that will award $500 to the winner. The entry fee is $50.
