Juliet Lee, Bertoletti, Conti on the Food Network in Jan
Juliet Lee has updated her WriteNow page which reports that she will appear in an episode of My Life in Food on the Food Network along with Pat Bertoletti and Crazy Legs Conti. The program will document their preparation for the 2008 Nathan’s finals. The expected broadcast date is January 10.
The program page on the Food Network’s website has the following description:
My Life in Food takes an intimate look at individuals whose lives have been transformed through food. Pat Bertoletti Guinness pizza record attempt
Pat Bertoletti has posted a blog entry to his yardbarker blog about the Guinness 12 inch pizza record he and Hall Hunt attempted to break while he was in Fort Pierce for the Battle of the Big Apple pizza contest. The record is listed at 2 minutes and 14 seconds and the video is 36 seconds long.

In his yardbarker blog, Pat Bertoletti announces the opening of his personal website at DeepDishEats.com Bertoletti intends to have recipes and other cooking information on his website in addition to news about his competitive eating career. The contest calendar says that he will compete in the Nugget rib eating contest on Wednesday.
Hall Hunt Czech trip repot
Hall Hunt has posted a blog entry about his trip to the Czech Republic to compete in eating contests at the Trnkobrani festival. He had difficulty extracting the plum pits from the plum dumplings, which he believed was required for counting purposes, but was actually unnecessary. Saturday’s contest was a pizza / pickles / ice cream triathlon. (If a pregnant woman competed, she might have won that event 😉 )
Czech contest coverage
Several Czech language articles and a gallery about the eating contests held at the Trnkobranà festival this weekend are available. Pat Bertoletti and Hall Hunt participated in a pizza contest held yesterday. An hour long dumpling eating contest will take place today. Pat Bertoletti hopes to break the record of 191 dumplings set in 2003.

Bertoletti & Hall Hunt in Czech contest August 17
(from Hall Hunt) The website for the Trnkobranà festival in the Czech republic reports that Pat Bertoletti and Hall Hunt will be competing in an eating contest at that event on August 17. Kamil Hamersky, who participated in the 2006 Nathan’s finals is also expected to compete.

It took the “winner” FIFTY MINUTES to eat FOUR NON-EGG McMuffins. Pretty much makes you want to vom, doesn’t it? You’re in good company, because according to one of the overseers of the event, the “winner” just asked if he could go throw up. He was told that he loses if he does. Meaning that the other intern who ATE THREE McMUFFINS AND THEN GAVE UP would be declared the winner.
