Greg "The Great Moomsi" Maloomian has uploaded a video of his attempt to reclaim the "Top Dog" status by eating more than 16 dogs at a Spike's Junkyard Dogs in Boston.
The website for Denny's Beer Barrel Pub was updated yesterday to report two finishers of the two pound burger; "Furious" Pete Czerwinski's recent breaking of the three pound burger record is not mentioned.

The Heart Attack Grill sues Heart Stoppers (FL)

Sun Sentinel has an article about the Heart Attack Grill suing Heart Stoppers in Delray Beach, Florida for trademark violations. Heart Stoppers’ attorney has the following defense:

“Their theme is completely different,” he said. “That’s one of the reasons they didn’t continue discussions with the guy because they weren’t interested in his theme. They didn’t steal the same trademarked Single Bypass, Double Bypass burger that he does. They didn’t limit their menu like he does. They don’t require their nurses to dress in a provocative manner. It changed the clientele from the Hooters-type crowd to a family-type restaurant.”

21 burritos in 7 days challenge

After this weekend, the Rockford Corner Bar will require diners to eat at least 20 chili dogs to receive the hot dogs free. A 12 hot dog minimum has been in place for the holiday season.
Greg Avola has pictures of Greg "The Great Moomsi" Maloomian setting a house record (17 hot dogs) at a Spike's Junkyard Dogs location. (Not at the Somerville location, as the record there was already 17).

Atlanta GSpots reports that Grace Lee won last night's five pound burrito eating contest at The Cantina in Buckhead, Georgia against two former male professional athletes. Gallery
Nations Restaurant News reports that the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo will have an IFOCE eating contest on April 10 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the free 72 ounce steak challenge.

Furious Pete halves Denny’s 3 lb. burger record

“Furious” Pete Czerwinski reports he set the record for Denny’s Beer Barrel 3 pound burger today. His time of 9:02 is less than half of the previous record held by Elizabeth Canady. update A video has been posted.

Pete also confirms that he won yesterday’s Wing Off in northern Virginia.

(Via Philadelphia City Paper) "Gluttonous Maximus" is a new youtube series about big Philadelphia area meals. Their first video is about the five pound burrito at the Tortilla Press in Collingswood, New Jersey.
AZStarnet reports that Chad Rowland ate the 12 pattie, 3 pound OMFG burger at Lindy's on Fourth in Tucson in 4 minutes. AZStarnet also has an article about Tucson eating challenges.

Denver pizza challenge increases prize to $1,000

Westword reports that Virgilio’s Pizza in Denver will award $1,000 to the first diner that can finish its 10-11 pound pizza challenge after receiving feedback that the challenge was too difficult. A 7 pound pizza challenge awarding $100 and a 5 pound challenge awarding $25 have also been added.

"Furious" Pete Czerwinski has uploaded a video of him eating a 15 inch pizza in less than 2 minutes. In a bodybuilding.com forum thread about the video, Pete says he will be at Denny's Beer Barrel this Friday.
Singer Jason Derulo ("Whatcha Say"), one of the opening acts on Lady Gaga's current tour, has uploaded a picture of his friend Sharon attempting to eat an 80 ounce steak at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. (He has not posted if she finished it.)
Bergg vs. Food reports that Bergg broke the record for the three pound "Triple Undisputed" burger at Weiner & Still Champion in Evanston, Illinios. His time of 13:50 broke the record set earlier this week by 21 seconds.
