Omaha.com reports that Molly Schuyler eating the 72 ounce steak at Sayler's in Portland in 2:44 appears in the latest edition of Ripley's Believe it or Not.
The Daily Mail has an article about Li Yongzhi of Shawoli, China, who reportedly eats up to 5.5 pounds of chilli peppers daily.

Taco in a Bag will announce today the time Takeru Kobayashi needed to finish the Taco Trough challenge. This attempt will but two of his streaks on the line: a post-MLE streak now extending 5 years and a career undefeated streak vs. women. Molly Schuyler is the current leader at 2:24 with Bob Shoudt the current runner up with a time of 3:14.

Kate Ovens has uploaded a video of her latest eating challenge: a 6 patty burger at the Fat Hippo in Newcastle, England.
Molly Schuyler has been announced as the winner of the $3330 first prize for the 2015 Triple Triple Challenge at Wayback Burgers. Her time was 40.55 seconds (less than 5 seconds per patty).
Taco in a Bag's Taco Trough Takedown closed yesterday. Molly Schuyler took the lead on Monday with a time of 2:24. Bob Shoudt's and Takeru Kobayashi's time (if he did the challenge) have yet to be announced.

Marco Owens announces (in comments) he has taken the lead in the Taco Trough challenge at Taco in a Bag with a time of 3:15, beating Pat Bertoletti's time by almost a minute. He thought that would result in an immediate payment of $5,000, but the contest will continue and pay the prize to the fastest finisher as of September 23. (No mention of that date is made in the original challenge announcement). (via email) update Stephanie Torres just finished the challenge in 4:30, which puts her in the lead for the $2000 prize.
Wayback Burgers will hold its Triple Triple Challenge on September 18. The fastest overall time to eat a nine patty burger will win $3330.
Teams will compete in a steak eating contest at The Big Texan in Amarillo, TX in tonight's episode of The Great Food Truck Race at 9 pm on the Food Network.

Reno.craigslist.org has a request for competitive eaters to attempt food challenges in sessions on September 6, 7 and 8. The casting call claims that the biggest names in MLE will participate in the project. The filming site is not mentioned, presumably it will be in north Nevada.
The Australian boy band 5 Seconds of Summer uploaded a video of their attempts at the 28 inch pizza challenge at Russo's Pizzeria in Houston originally recorded in July 2013.
The Chicago Hot Sauce Festival will take place on August 29 & 30 after parking issues forced a postponement of the original July dates. Seven spicy eating contests will take place both days.
Taco in a Bag announces the Kickapoo Joy Juice Taco Trough $10,000 Challenge. Pat Bertoletti and Tim "Gravy" Brown will set the official record for a 6 pound "Big Jim Reeves" taco and a half liter of Kickapoo Joy Juice on WCIU on August 28. $5000 will be awarded to the first person to surpass that mark.
