Escaping the Desk has a blog entry about attempting the 1.5 kg burger challenge at the Black Cat in Ho Chi Minh City / Saigon.
Pamplin Media has an article about a duo from the Big Eaters Club finishing the 12 pound Chuckwagon challenge at Bert's Chuckwagon in Dundee, OR on January 25.
The 8 Buck Pizza Truck based in Manteca, CA will award $1,000 to a single person who finishes its 30 inch, 15 pound pizza; a successful pair will receive $250.  
Great-Taste.net reports that Kristin Avery ate 42 Pancakes in 25 minutes to win the IHOP Pancake Bowl for the Los Angeles region. The contest went into overtime after she tied with Naader Reda and another competitor by eating 31 pancakes in 20 minutes. (picture)    
A press release announces that Jamie McDonald will attempt the 8.5 pound "Bearwich" barbecue sandwich challenge at his restaurant tonight in Windsor, CT. He will then award $500 to a customer who can beat his time for the challenge.    
In last week's episode of Wahlburgers, a reality show on A & E about a Boston burger restaurant owned by the Wahlberg family, "Nacho" ate 4 burgers in 9 minutes.

Rashad Newsom won the Carolina Reaper killer wing challenge held at Whisky River in Charlotte last night to claim a prize of $500.
The 80 ounce steak challenge at Thorny's in Myrtle Beach, SC was attempted on tonight's episode of Myrtle Manor on TLC.
The Daily Press reports that Naader Reda ate 40 pancakes at an IHOP in Victorville, CA, which qualfied him for the Pancake Bowl finals in Los Angeles.
Philly.com has an article about Wing Bowl 22 odds claiming that Pat Bertoletti ate 17 sandwiches in 35 minutes at Jim's Steaks to qualify. (His stunt was eating scrapple and cream cheese). This would smash the official record of 13 sandwiches set by Bob Shoudt in 2007. Lynda Kuerth claimed to have eaten 15 sandwiches in the 1970s.

IHOP Pancake Bowl qualifying ends today

update Molly Schuyler ate 70 pancakes to top a leader board.

Qualifying for the IHOP Pancake Bowl finals on February 1 ends today. A picture of a leader board (probably at a Las Vegas location) lists the top 3:

1) Miki Sudo 50 (probably IHOP AYCE female record)
2) Locust 45
3) Madame of Etiquette 18

The Big Eaters Club has a video of “Max Carnage” eating 43 pancakes.

Vitthaya Morawong posted a picture of Joey Chestnut at Gold Curry in Bangkok, where he finished a 6kg (13.2 lb.) curry challenge in 27:30 on November 18, 2013 according to the restaurant's facebook. Joey says he intends to attempt the 10kg challenge in the future.
