In the latest New Heights podcast, Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs and retired Philadelphia Eagle Jason Kelce discussed competitive eating near the start of the podcast at around the 13 minute mark. Jason talked about receiving a Guinness record for catching with a bun the longest hot dog thrown which followed with Travis talking about his fears of being forced to compete in a hot dog eating contest. Cherish "Five Pounds" Brown was the guest on the latest Food Challenge News podcast. She says she was inspired to start competitive eating by her high appetite while cutting weight to make a MMA class. The "Five Pounds" nickname did not originate with competitive eating, but was given to her by her weightlifting coach since she was increasing the weight she lifted by five pounds with each training session. Joey Chestnut has defeated Kobayashi 83 hot dogs to 67 to set a world record for a 10 minute hot dog contest.
In the first undercard, Matt Stonie defeated three aquatic Olympians (Ryan Lochte, Ryan Murphy and Max Irving) in a 3 minute wing eating contest, 53 wings to 36.
