Yesterday at the Jalapeño Festival in Laredo, TX, Molly Schuyler ate 329 peppers to win the event's eating contest for the sixth time in a row. Dan Kennedy was the runner up with 191.
Today marks the 10th anniversary of Molly Schuyler eating 363 wings in 30 minutes to win Wing Bowl 22, her first of three triumphs at that event. Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who has become famous recently for his brother's relationship with Taylor Swift, also competed in that competition and ate 65 wings in 14 minutes but did not advance to the second round.
Today marks the 20th anniversary of Sonya "The Black Widow" Thomas' victory in Wing Bowl 12 in which she defeated Ed "Cookie" Jarvis in overtime. The Washington Post has a long article about the competition which also documents Sonya's ascent in the previous seven months after starting her competitive eating career in June 2003.

“Superhot” documentary on Hulu

The documentary “Superhot:The Spicy World of Pepper People” can now be viewed on Hulu. The 10 episode series has the following description:
