I think this is the first time Joey Chestnut’s contest total has ever been doubled. Even in his first Nathan’s finals in 2005, he still ate about 2/3 of what Takeru Kobayashi did (32 hot dogs vs. 49)

Joey Bosa finished ahead of MLE’s #6 eater, Gideon Oji.

In a post contest interview on stage, Darrien Thomas said he not only abstained from training, he had never eaten a pistachio before the competition. That handicap did not prevent him from finishing second.

TMZ has an interview with Los Angeles Chargers defender Joey Bosa about competing in today’s Wonderful Pistachios Get Crackin’ Eating Championship at the Santa Monica Pier. Bosa is not the first NFL defensive lineman to compete in a Major League Eating contest, In 2003 William Perry competed in the Nathan’s hot dog finals and ate 4 hot dogs before quitting midway through the competition. In 2005, Perry also particpated in the Trip Rewards World Birthday Cake Eating Championship and finished last.

Bosa says that his new head coach Jim Harbaugh hoped he would win the contest.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have posted a video of a wing eating contest attended by several of their players. Hiro was the winner with 69 wings. Several Dodgers were asked how many wings could they eat in a competition. Shohei Ohtani believes he could eat 40 wings.

In a new episode of "Idiot Sandwich" on youtube, Matt Stonie faces off against two other chefs to produce a shrimp sandwich in a cooking contest judged by Gordon Ramsay held at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas Matt does not remember Joey Chestnut's Nathan's Famous record of 76 and states that the all time best is 72 hot dogs. updateGordon Ramsay has posted an excerpt on his tiktok consisting of his conversation with Matt and a him training for a hot dog eating contest.

Nathan Klein announced that he completed the Loco Moco Burrito Challenge at Aina Grill in Waipahu, HI to give him victories over restaurant challenges in all fifty states. I think the only other people to accomplish that milestone are Randy Santel, Ramsey Hilton and Ivan Mendoza. Is anyone aware of any others?

Today marks the 10th anniversary of Molly Schuyler eating 363 wings in 30 minutes to win Wing Bowl 22, her first of three triumphs at that event. Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who has become famous recently for his brother's relationship with Taylor Swift, also competed in that competition and ate 65 wings in 14 minutes but did not advance to the second round.
